Two months without tasting the flavor of victory: must have felt like eternity, for Sebastian Vettel! Now all is back to business as usual, one two for Red Bull, the Magic Drink Team is on top once again. Spa-Francorchamps, especially in the rain, is really a magic place: the rain and spray linger on between the rows of tall, dark pine trees, and the F1 missiles cut through this thick mass of grey matter. Unique. Congrats to Bruno for his superb qualfiying, Ayrton must have been proud of his nephew up there. And finally, thumbs up to the brave returning Kaiser, last on the grid for none of his fault, and 5th at the checkered flag! The old man is still kickin'...

There is something magic about Lewis Hamilton. Is it the yellow helmet? I don't know, and there's no need to look for a cheap shortcut explanation. But Lewis has this amazing ability to go beyond what is deemed as possible, the ability to deliver the impossible. Magic, right? That's because he's a warrior, a true racer, and a driver who can make a car go faster than it should. Indeed a very rare breed, and something wonderful in fact, in a Formula 1 world where technology has become God, instead of the driver. Otherwise, interesting to see that Sebastian Vettel showed a bit of the Dani Pedrosa syndrom at the Nürburgring: unbeatable when he's in the lead, Seb seemed somewhat forbearing when having to actually fight and overtake...

Despite his outstanding talent, it is doubtful that Fernando Alonso would have won the British Grand Prix had it not been for the indirect help from the governing body and the strange decision to change the rules in mid-season, and of course Red Bull shooting themselves in the foot with chaotic pitstops. Under these most unfavorable circumstances, the Red Bull brigade still managed to finish 2nd and 3rd, and the future looks as bright as ever for Sebastain Vettel's title chase. The battle between Webber and Wonderboy in the final laps was ferocious and cool, but the Horner management didn't think so, Mark's ears ringing from the repeated orders telling him to stay put. But the Aussie is notoriously deaf at times... As Quick Vic Elford once said after getting the team orders pitwall sign, "I kept going as fast as I could". Some are deaf, others are blind, all are racers, for our joy!
